Our Building

Short Version

{A longer version is being made}

St. Peter’s Church is one of Guernsey’s 10 Ancient Parish Churches and is nestled into the hillside. It has a Tardis-like quality and has on occasions held more than 500 people, albeit with a bit of a squeeze.

There are a number of unique things about the building, including a clearly sloping aisle of nearly 2 metres between the entrance and the altar. It has the largest peal of bells in the Bailiwick of Guernsey, and there are only a few stained glass windows including one of St. Peter wearing a Guernsey, and a very fine Rose Window which was installed in 2010.

We recognise that it is important to look after our building for future generations, but believe that the Church is made up of ‘living stones’ - people.

We seek to use our building creativity, responsibly and respectfully to practice hospitality, offer hope and share humour.
